Current Beta

Important Note: Beta versions contain new features and functions that have not yet been as fully tested as have Release versions. If you use a Beta, you may find bugs or problems and you are expected to report them to Ross-Tech so that we can fix them before making a new Release.  Please be sure that you have also installed the latest Release on your computer  as well so that you can revert back to using that if you encounter problems with the Beta.

Beta 15.2  includes the following  improvements:

  • Revised and expanded ODX/ASAM Data.
Includes support for latest modules in the most recent cars.

  • CAN Broadcast support for HEX-NET interfaces
To allow for functions like Clear All DTCs and Transport Mode.

  • Link on Auto-Screen to MyAutoScan.txt instead of AutoScan.txt
to encourage people to make changes in that file, which will not be overwritten in new installs.

  • Added new debug info for Micro-CAN interfaces
including a tentative fix for sporadic "No response" problem with some modules.

  • Added code to support Polo 6C with Micro-CAN interfaces.

  • Added VIN (if available) to print job names

  • Added new CAN and UDS addresses.

  • Added code to differentiate between 3C/VW47 and 3C/VW48

  • Several improvements to HEX-NET communications.

  • Numerous other "behind the scenes" improvements
but absolutely nothing worthy of a screen-shot. .

Beta 15.5  includes the following  improvements:

  • Auto-Scans will now be saved automatically
We got tired of hearing, "Yeah, I did an Auto-Scan but I didn't save it!"

  • Added code to support e-Golf with Micro-CAN interfaces.

  • Fix for multi-character UDS sub-channel Adaptations
such as those often used for battery serial numbers in UDS Gateways.

  • Fix for missing addresses in Gateway Installation List
sometimes seen when Gateways have duplicate addresses and one doesn't talk.

  • Improved (but not perfect) DTC retrieval at address 31
    on multi-ECU cars.

  • New Version 1.0.6.16 of Long Coding Helper

  • Support for Transport Mode in new Phaetons.

  • Fixed a bug on PID#133 in generic OBD-II

  • Soft reset available after UDS Adaptation and Long Coding

  • Fix for missing address 5F in optical loop test result.

  • Almost 70 new or improved label files.

  • Numerous other "behind the scenes" improvements
but still nothing needing graphical documentation in the form of a screen-shot.

Release Notes:

  • Works only with Ross-Tech's Intelligent Interfaces.

  • Default installation location is C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta\
If allowed to install to its default location, it will not overwrite or interfere with the use of Release 14.10.

  • Works on Windows XP and newer, including Windows 8.1
Either 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows are fully supported.  It might still work on Windows 2000 as well, but we no longer consider any version of Windows older than  XP "supported."
