Note: Beta versions
contain new features and functions that have not yet been as fully
tested as have Release versions. If you use a Beta, you may find
bugs or problems and you are expected to report them to Ross-Tech so
that we can fix them before making a new Release. Please be sure that you have also installed
the latest Release on
your computer as well so that you can revert back to using that if you
encounter problems with the Beta.
Beta 12.10 includes the
following and improvements:
Totally revised and optimized ODX/ASAM Data.
Includes support for latest modules in the most recent cars.
Despite including support for many new modules, we've
managed to cut the number of .ROD files by about half.
Support for MQB / Mk.7 Gateways.
VW did some rather new and "interesting" things in these:
New "Clear All Selections" function in Advanced Measuring Values.
Handy under some circumstances.
Incorporated at least 17 new UDS addresses.
For modules like the BCM, Suspension Electronics, Auxiliary Heater, Door Controllers, and so on.
Revised and expanded CODES file.
Now with almost 18,000 fault codes and measuring block texts.
Improved label file dataset.
Over 100 new or revised files since the last version in August.
Support for MyAutoScan.txt file.
This allows users to put their own car definitions in a separate file
which won't overwritten when VCDS is updated. User defined scans will
appear at the top of the drop-down chassis selection list on the Auto-Scan screen.
Works only with Intelligent Interfaces (HEX, KEY and Micro-CAN).
Default installation location is C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta\
If allowed to install to its default location, it will not overwrite
or interfere with the use of Release 11.11.
We believe this version is fully Windows 8 Compatible.
Both 32 and 64 bit versions. However, we are honestly not fans of Windows 8.
In fact, we believe it's
worse than Vista, so we've only tested it on two
machines in-house. If you experience difficulties, please let us know.

Features introduced in Beta versions 12.10.0 -
12.10.7 have been incorporated into our current Release 12.12.
However, we expect to have new Beta versions
sometime this winter. :-)
