The 2 x 2 Port in
Older Cars
The old "2x2" Diagnostic Data
Link Connection looks like this:
Volkswagen
models often have it under the shift-boot
or somewhere in the dash. Audis often have it in a
fuse/relay box under the hood, or in the passenger's
footwell under the carpets.
Obviously, the 16-pin OBD-II connector
that comes on our Interface Adapters won't fit
these connectors. The solution is this adapter:
These
are exactly the same as the VW's VAS-5051/2
adapter. In fact, they are made for us
by the same company in Germany that makes them for VW.
These adapters are available as an option for $50 with any
VAG-COM system.
